Public Safety Notice — Identity Theft Investigation Active

If You Were Contacted by "Branthor Veyne International Law Firm" — It Is a Scam

A fraudulent operation has stolen the names, photographs, and credentials of our attorneys to impersonate our firm. They have no connection to Danziger & De Llano, LLP. If you were contacted by these individuals, you are not at fault. This page explains what happened and what you can do to protect yourself.

What Happened

A fraudulent website copied our firm's attorneys, photographs, and biographical information to create a fake entity called "Branthor Veyne International Law Firm." They are using this fake identity to contact people — primarily through Facebook Messenger and Telegram — claiming they can recover lost cryptocurrency.

Danziger & De Llano does not provide cryptocurrency recovery services. We do not contact potential clients through social media messaging. This operation is not affiliated with our firm in any way.

We have reported this fraud to Google, federal law enforcement, and platform operators and are actively working to shut it down.

What to Do Right Now

Your next steps depend on how far the interaction went.

If you sent money or cryptocurrency

  • Contact your bank or financial institution immediately — they may be able to reverse the transaction
  • File a report with the FBI at ic3.gov (takes about 15 minutes)
  • Do not send additional payments, even if they claim it's needed to "release" your funds

If you shared personal information

  • Change passwords for any accounts where you used the same email or password
  • Monitor your bank accounts and credit cards for unauthorized charges
  • Consider placing a credit freeze with Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion
  • Watch for follow-up scams — once your information is shared, you may be targeted again

If you only communicated but shared nothing

  • You are safe — no further action is required for your own protection
  • Reporting the profile helps protect others (see below)

How to Verify a Contact Is Really From Our Firm

If anyone claims to represent Danziger & De Llano, you can verify them using this information.

Our Verified Contact Information

Website: dandell.com
Address: 440 Louisiana St., Suite 1212, Houston, TX 77002

Our firm will never:

  • Contact you through Facebook Messenger, Telegram, or WhatsApp
  • Ask for upfront payment or cryptocurrency of any kind
  • Pressure you to act immediately or face a deadline
  • Direct you to a website other than dandell.com
  • Ask for your Social Security number over the phone or online

Red Flags That a Legal Contact May Be a Scam

These warning signs apply to any unsolicited legal contact, not just this case.

  • They contacted you first — Legitimate law firms do not cold-message people on social media
  • They ask to move to Telegram or WhatsApp — This avoids platform monitoring and creates no paper trail
  • They ask for money upfront — Real contingency-fee attorneys charge nothing unless they win your case
  • The phone number doesn't match the firm's website — Always verify independently
  • They pressure you to act immediately — No legitimate attorney will force an instant decision
  • They point to a "court verification" site that isn't .gov — Real court websites always end in .gov
  • They promise guaranteed results — No honest attorney can guarantee an outcome

How to Report This Scam

Every report helps build the case and protect others.

If you were contacted by these individuals and are willing to share details, please email hector@dandell.com. Your report helps us track this operation.

If You Clicked a Link They Sent You

The fraudulent website contains code that may redirect your browser or track activity while on the page. If you visited their website:

  • Clear your browser cookies and site data for any unfamiliar websites you visited
  • Check your browser notification settings and remove any sites you don't recognize
  • Change your Facebook password if you clicked a link while logged in
  • Run a scan with your existing antivirus software
  • If you downloaded anything from their site, delete it and run a full system scan

Based on our technical analysis, the website does not install software on your computer. The risk is limited to browser-level activity while you were on the page.

A Message From Our Firm

We learned that someone is using our names, our team's photographs, and our firm's reputation to deceive people. This is deeply personal to us. Our attorneys have spent their careers advocating for families affected by mesothelioma and asbestos exposure — to see our identities used to harm people is something we take very seriously.

We are doing everything in our power to shut this operation down. If you encountered this scam, please know that you have our full attention and our commitment to making this right.
